We’re hearing from a lot of our members that they’ve got a serious case of climate anxiety, and we can’t blame them! Last summer’s heat dome was terrifying and this morning’s news reported on how persistent drought has resulted in historic damage to Northwest crops.
That’s why we’ve partnered up with BBPDX member Eric Brody of Shift Advantage and partner Tim Miller from Oregon Business for Climate to bring you a very time sensitive program about Oregon’s Climate Protection Program.
BBPDX member Sam Pardue, CEO of Indow and a representative on the Oregon Global Warming Commission will also be offering his perspective as an Oregon business owner.
Join us on Thursday, October 14 at 4 pm to learn about this groundbreaking state policy and the urgent need to engage and influence our state’s Department of Environmental Quality as it finalizes the rules that will guide implementation.
Eric and Tim will be joined by Verde’s Oriana Magnera who will share how low income and communities of color are impacted by climate change and how you can help.
If you’re curious about how climate policy factors into the huge Build Back Better legislation in Washington, D.C. Nora Apter of Oregon Environmental Council will be on hand to provide a short briefing and answer your questions.
This event will be moderated BBPDX Board Chair Leslie Carlson.
