If a major Cascadia Zone earthquake happened today, engineers don’t expect any of Portland’s downtown bridges will be usable for several weeks or months. Multnomah County is leading the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge project to ensure we have at least one downtown bridge when the Big One strikes.
