2021 Board Recruitment

Business for a Better Portland unites business leaders from companies of all sizes and sectors who recognize that economic success is tied to the success of the entire community. 

We believe that businesses can make a difference by collaborating for systemic change to address our city’s greatest challenges, generate shared prosperity, and advance social justice and equity. In addition to generating profits, it is our responsibility to build a thriving, inclusive economy that benefits everyone: our employees, our clients, our customers, and our neighbors. 

 BBPDX provides its members an onramp for civic engagement, including dynamic events focused on visionary policy changes, conversations with elected officials and other civic leaders, and advocacy opportunities to influence policy at the local, state, and federal levels.

 Our work includes support for improving our region’s transportation network, promoting options for affordable housing, and expanding access to capital for small businesses, especially those owned by women and those who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Across each of these issues, we are focused on advancing solutions that address racial disparities and create a more equitable economy.

 In 2021, BBPDX is continuing to build on our successes, including assembling a board of directors that represents the diversity of races, self-identities, cultural experiences, regions, and industry sectors that adds to the strength and creativity of our business community.
